Keeled box turtle handed in by student returned to its home in Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam

The confiscated Keeled box turtle (Cuora mouhotii) back in its natural habitat


On the 16 th March 2012 the Turtle Conservation Center (TCC) in Cuc Phuong National Park received a Keeled box turtle (Cuora mouhotii) from the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) in Hanoi. The turtle was handed in by a student that had found this individual in Nho Quan Town (Ninh Binh province), a town close to Cuc Phuong National Park. As the animal appeared healthy and was in close proximity to its believed native habitat the animal was released back into the forest.
