The Asian Turtle Program is seeking a dynamic Project Assistant in Vietnam.

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Assistant is responsible for supporting the ATP/IMC Animal Manager in activities at the Turtle Conservation Centre (TCC) in Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam. The Project Assistant will work under the guidance and supervision of the Animal Manager regarding daily activities at the centre to ensure smooth running and timely completion of activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Assisting the Animal Manager in data collection, completion of reports to be submitted each month
  • Assisting the Animal Manager in developing budgets, workplans and monitoring payroll
  • Support the ATP/IMC Animal Manager in organizing staff to complete daily tasks as required
  • Assist the team in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of animals
  • Assist the Animal Manager with the volunteer program
  • Purchasing supplies for the TCC
  • Provide support to administrative work, including translation of documents into English and Vietnamese
  • Support education and awareness through the development of material and implementation of awareness activities at the TCC and surrounding areas.
  • Take photographs and videos of turtles and activities at TCC for reports, social media, press releases
  • Provide a daily report to the line manager

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Passionate about animals, wildlife conservation and stand for animal welfare
  • University Degree in forestry, biology, or related fields
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working in a related area
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work, live and thrive in challenging circumstances (Flexibility and a sense of humour are precious)
  • Be a team player, have a positive attitude to working with local staff, international and national volunteers, park officers and other technical partners
  • Good English speaking and writing skills
  • Good photographic and video editing skills, preferable but not essential.
  • Proficient with basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

SALARY RANGE BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Salary range, $300-$500USD depending on level of experience and skills.
